RISE is proud to announce that 60 indigenous pre-service teachers from nine members across Chin, Sagaing, Shan, Ta’ang, and Karenni areas have successfully completed Modules 1 and 2 of RISE’s teacher professional development programme, alongside a community-based teaching practicum.
During the practicum, student-teachers applied inclusive, mother-tongue-based teaching approaches within their own communities—ensuring education remains accessible, culturally relevant, and responsive in conflict-affected contexts.
By training teachers from within the communities they serve, RISE is helping to build a sustainable pipeline of indigenous educators—one that strengthens local ownership, preserves language and culture, and supports continuity of learning in emergencies.
This milestone reflects more than individual achievement; it represents progress toward resilient, community-driven education systems that can adapt and endure in challenging contexts.
🤝 Let’s continue supporting community-driven solutions that ensure every child can learn, in their language and context.
